Description:

SAE International is seeking individuals to join the Aerospace General Projects Systems Group's Committees to participate in the standards development process.

Please consider lending your expertise to one or more of the following areas of development by clicking the "apply now" button above.

AS-1 Aircraft Systems & Systems Integration Committee addresses all facets of aircraft   avionics systems–design, maintenance, and in-service experience. It reviews and develops specifications for stores interface, validation requirements, systems integration, mission store validation plans and media terminal design. Also addressed are system test requirements, architecture, security and 1553 data bus standards. The group is comprised of three committees dedicated to creating, preparing, and maintaining all relevant specifications, standards, and requirements for aircraft avionics systems.

AS-2 Embedded Computing Systems Committee addresses all facets of embedded computing systems–design, maintenance, and in-service experience. It focuses on the philosophy, requirements, definitions, and user issues associated with embedded computing systems. This includes open architecture instruction set architectures (ISAs) implementation technologies, standards and verification, internal interfaces and partitioning, software support systems and tools, fault tolerance, security, and multi-processor concepts. The group is comprised of three subcommittees dedicated to creating, preparing, and maintaining all relevant specifications, standards, and requirements for embedded computing systems.

AS-3 Fiber Optics and Applied Photonics Committee addresses all facets of fiber optics systems and applied photonics from design, maintenance, training, and testing to interconnects, splicing, inspection and cleaning. It serves as an industry forum to establish definitions and standards for components and systems approaches to fiber optic data buses. This support applies to sensors, architecture, and requirements for advanced fiber and electro optic technologies.

AS-4 Technical Committees Unmanned Systems Committees address all facets of unmanned systems—design, maintenance, and in-service experience. The primary goal of AS-4 is to publish standards that enable interoperability of unmanned systems for military, civil and commercial use through the use of open systems standards and architecture development. The AS-4 committees consist of two technical committees and a steering committee.
