Description:
The SAE Foundation is partnering with Kia to bring the award-winning SAE A World in Motion® (AWIM®) program to students in Troup County, Georgia.
Kia Georgia has been paired with the SAE Foundation for the last 10 years. Through their commitment to education, Kia has provided vital resources, volunteer support, and funding to thousands of teachers and students in Georgia and Alabama. Kia’s contributions in the community have made a life-changing impact on students, empowering them to learn essential STEM skills and inspiring the next generation of innovators.
AWIM is an inquiry-based learning experience that brings STEM concepts to life, setting students on a path of lifelong learning and discovery. Starting with the youngest learners, from preschool through 12th grade, AWIM combines practical, experiential learning with mentorship from industry volunteers and ongoing training and support for educators to provide equitable access to STEM.
Volunteers will play a key role in engaging students in the AWIM program, specifically the JetToy activity where students will design and build balloon-powered cars. Your tasks will include explaining instructions and concepts to students and providing guidance and support throughout the activities.
