- MOMENTUM will pay SAE Members 25 cents/word to write articles related to the SAE Collegiate Design Series (CDS) or to any other project/program involving mobility engineering (including but not limited to college coursework) or career development/advice.
- In addition to the 25/cent payment for each published word, SAE will award a large cash prize to the STUDENT author of the article judged by the SAE Membership & Engagement unit as the best in calendar year 2022. (The additional cash award only applies to student submissions)
Among acceptable article topics for SAE Student Members are: vehicle development, system development, or part development (powertrain, body, chassis, electronics, interiors, etc.). Tools used to produce the vehicles, systems, or parts (e.g., software, wind tunnels) are also appropriate article topics. Students may write such article as they apply to any mobility sector served by SAE (automotive, aerospace, trucks, tractors, bulldozers, etc.)
Although MOMENTUM is geared mainly as a medium for students to get published by SAE, we invite SAE Professional-grade Members to submit articles that offer career advice to students. Another topic appropriate for Professional Members is reflection on how SAE’s programs and activities for students helped you in your career.
