AUTOSAR, Middleware, and the Software-defined Vehicle

When:  Oct 25, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 01:00 PM (ET)
Associated with  Detroit

The software-defined vehicle (SDV) has many benefits that will significantly advance mobility: access to the latest safety, security, comfort, and convenience features; over-the-air updates; improved vehicle life cycle management; vehicle reporting; and more. It aims to fundamentally change the vehicle ownership experience – as the vehicle will be enhanced and gain more capabilities over its lifetime.

For the software-defined vehicle to become a reality, we need a centralized software layer - middleware - between the operating system and applications. Middleware (e.g., AUTOSAR Adaptive or AUTOSAR Classic) will enable decision making and connectivity for more immersive, personalized features, and capabilities. This webinar will talk about middleware and its implication on the software-defined vehicle, including updates, safety/security, architecture, integration, and more.

ETAS Inc., a full-service solutions provider for the software-defined vehicle is a subsidiary of ETAS GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of Robert Bosch GmbH. The company delivers a comprehensive end-to-end software defined vehicle portfolio, comprising the required in-vehicle software stack, holistic cybersecurity, and cloud-based operations services – enabling fast and data-driven development, efficient deployment and management, as well as safe and secure operation of vehicle software at scale. As a single source for developing complex software, ETAS has the ability to facilitate a rapid transition to the software-defined vehicle for global automakers, enabling the speed, scale and security required for them to achieve their aggressive software development goals.
