We're looking for professionals to join us on the Mid-Cal SAE board of directors. This is an opportunity to take your SAE involvement to the next level and contribute to one of the largest SAE sections in the nation.
The Mid-Cal board meets as needed, usually 4 times a year. Meetings are informal and are either at a local pizza parlor or on a conference call. We have several events every year and are looking for a few new board members to help us organize more. Some ideas for events we'd like to have in the future are:
-Local car shows for SAE members
-Resume writing seminars for students
-Design reviews for student projects
-Meetings with local faculty to encourage SAE involvement
-Tours of local engineering facilities
-Networking tent at local motorsport events
-Tech talks for students and professionals
We also want bright and enthusiastic professionals to help us build the section. The benefits of getting involved include opportunities to network with engineers from major companies in the area and to expand your experience in project and resource management. The first year as a professional member is free if you were a student member, and getting involved as a board member is a great resume builder as well. We are looking for offices such as:
