Continental Corporation is headquartered in Hanover, Germany and was founded in 1871. In 2015, Continental Corporation had sales of 39.2 billion euros. There are 207,899 employees worldwide at 430 locations in 55 countries. There are two main groups within the corporation: Rubber and Automotive. The Rubber Group includes OE and replacement tires, conveyor belts, coatings, and other operations. The Automotive Group consists of the Chassis and Safety, Powertrain and Interior products.

This presentation will focus on products provided by Continental’s Delavan, WI operations (formerly Synerject). Synerject was founded in 1997 to provide gasoline engine management systems and components to the Marine, Motorcycle, and Recreation industry manufacturers. Since then, the company has expanded into other non-automotive, small engine markets. Their main expertise is in gasoline fuel injection system design, including 2-stroke and 4-stroke applications, giving them a unique position in the market. In 2015 Synerject was fully acquired by Continental, which had previously been a major shareholder in the company.

Bill Chapman, Advanced Development Manager, will provide an overview of Continental Corporation and the non-automotive applications and customers. He will also discuss details of the current product offerings ranging from components to complete engine management systems for these segments.

Paul Schmidt, Plant Manager, will provide a detailed overview of the Delavan facility including the products, quality systems, and culture.
